A Mexico City-based EdTech startup building a microlearning platform for corporate teams. Challenge
- The previous vendor had left Offline Viewing half-built — with documented bugs on Android and virtually nothing done on iOS. Users were already reporting issues.
- Inherit significant technical debt on top of a limited budget, requiring a full renegotiation to find a project-based model that worked for both sides.
Solution
FlyDevs took full ownership of the Offline Viewing feature across both platforms, delivering a stable and production-ready implementation:
Offline viewing on Android — picked up the existing code, resolved all known bugs and user-reported issues.
Offline viewing on iOS — built from scratch to match full feature parity with Android.
Technical debt cleanup — removed deprecated libraries (including ButterKnife), fixed view injection, and stabilized both builds.
Full compilable builds — both Android and iOS versions running cleanly end to end.
Result
